We have all experienced a “fall” in our lives. Sometimes we
struggle with health issues, school, friends, family, finances, relationships,
and the list goes on and on. There is a common misconception that life is just
rainbows and butterflies. Life is certainly an amazing experience; however,
there are many challenges we all face on a regular basis. We all have struggles;
however, our success is not defined by how many times we fall but by how many
times we get back up.
For anyone who is into sports I have always been a firm
believer that a championship is not made on the good days but is achieved on
the bad days. This is an important idea to keep in mind because on the bad
days it shows your talent, determination, and character when you get up. True
champions will rise to the occasion every single time.
At the end of the day it is not about where you start but where
you finish. Anyone who has experienced any kind of success has experienced good
and bad days. I have found that no one pays attention to how you achieved your
success but that you achieved it. I think the easiest way to explain what I
mean by this is by sharing an example from my own life, my college experience.
When I started my freshman year of college I was really nervous and it was a
really difficult adjustment for me to make. I really struggled through my
freshman year. Now I am approaching graduation in May and the reality is no one
is paying attention to the difficultly I had my freshman year, everyone is
congratulating me on my accomplishments that have lead to this point.
What kind of obstacles have you faced? Has it been difficult
to get back up? Do you feel that the obstacles you faced made it more
satisfying when you finally achieved your goal?
