I
recently went to see Alice Through the Looking Glass with my cousins and Alice
had a really profound realization about time. People commonly think of time as
a felting entity that steals from people. In the beginning of the movie Alice
sees time as an entity that is constantly working against you. You only have a
certain amount of time and every second you get less and less of it. It is a
crude realization. As the movie progresses Alice realizes time is not a
thief because he always gives before he takes. She says, “I used to think time
was a thief. Time is a gift. Every minute. Every second."
When
you think about it that is a really profound thought. You will never be as
young as you are right now. We never know how much time we have left and
everyday we get up is a gift.
Time
is certainly always passing but as the time passes you are getting something in
return. Time is always giving you something. Do not waste your time because
eventually times generosity will run out and it will be taken from you.
I know there are times when I have taken my time for granted and not really
appreciated it because I figured I had more. But I realized this thought
process does not help me accomplish anything. Your time is valuable and at the
end of the day you always have less than what you started with. Time
is generous so do not waste times generosity because you do not know when it
could run out.
Have
you been using your time wisely? What could you do to improve your time
management?
