Our mindset shapes our outlook on life. Our mindset is
formed by our thoughts. And our thoughts create our reality. When you think
about it that way that is some pretty powerful stuff. Our mindset and thoughts
have a profound effect on how we look at life. Some people will be a victim of
their circumstances while others rise to the occasion. I was listening to Tai
Lopez’s podcast today and he said, “The imitative majority follows the
innovative minority.” What does that even mean? Basically Tai is saying that
the majority of people are imitative, they follow the crowd and do not go
against the norm. They are the people who do not rock the boat; they are all
about maintaining the status quo. On the other hand, the innovative minority
are the people who are always pushing the envelope. These are the people that
are always rocking the boat.
Why is this even relevant? I think the same applies to our
mindset. I feel some people tend to be passive or imitative when it comes to
their mindset. They start to become a product of their circumstances and become
robotic, these are the people who have difficultly with change. However, I
think we need to be more active and innovative when it comes to our own
mindset. We need to take time to center ourselves and create our own unique
mindset. If we choose to be passive in our mindset we are doing those around us
and ourselves a real disservice.
Our mindset is something we all need to be continually
working on. Whenever we notice something we do not like about our thought
process we need to start making changes. I am constantly working on my mindset
and try to expand my horizons by being open to new perspectives. I have found
that journaling helps me with my mindset. Writing down all my thoughts and
feeling allows me to reflect and make any changes I feel are necessary.
How do you feel about your mindset? Are there changes you
need to make? What are the first steps you need to take in order to make the
necessary changes?
